چکیده
The SELEX experiment (E781) is a 3-stage magnetic spectrometer for a high statistics study of hadroproduction of charm baryons out to large xF using 650 GeV Σ,π and p beams. The main features of the spectrometer are: a high precision silicon vertex system; powerful particle identification provided by TRD and RICH; forward Λs decay spectrometer; and 3-stage lead glass photon detector. Preliminary results on asymmetry for Λc produced by Σ , π and p beams at xF > 0.2 and precise measurements of the Λc, D , and preliminary Ds lifetimes are presented. † M. Iori, G. Alkhazov, A.G. Generating Aptamers by Cell-SELEX for Applications in Molecular Medicine
Aptamers are single-stranded oligonucleotides of DNA or RNA that bind to target molecules with high affinity and specificity. Typically, aptamers are generated by an iterative selection process, called systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX). Recent advancements in SELEX technology have extended aptamer selection from comparatively simple mixtures of purified proteins ...
متن کاملDevelopment of Cell-Specific Aptamers: Recent Advances and Insight into the Selection Procedures.
Systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) is an established procedure for developing short single-stranded nucleic acid ligands called aptamers against a target of choice. This approach has also been used for developing aptamers specific to whole cells named Cell-SELEX. Aptamers selected by Cell-SELEX have the potential to act as cell specific therapeutics, cell specific...
متن کاملReal-Time PCR: an Appropriate Approach to Confi rm ssDNA Generation from PCR Product in SELEX Process
Background: Aptamers are single stranded DNA (ssDNA) or RNA molecules. The potential of aptamers for binding to the different targets has made them be widely used as the preferred diagnostic and therapeutic tools. DNA aptamers present several advantages over the RNA oligonucleotides due to their higher stability, easier selection, and production. Selection of DNA aptamers which...
متن کاملCELL-SELEX: Novel Perspectives of Aptamer-Based Therapeutics
Aptamers, single stranded DNA or RNA molecules, generated by a method called SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment) have been widely used in various biomedical applications. The newly developed Cell-SELEX (cell based-SELEX) targeting whole living cells has raised great expectations for cancer biology, -therapy and regenerative medicine. Combining nanobiotechnology wit...
متن کاملA comparative analysis of transcription factor binding models learned from PBM, HT-SELEX and ChIP data
Understanding gene regulation is a key challenge in today's biology. The new technologies of protein-binding microarrays (PBMs) and high-throughput SELEX (HT-SELEX) allow measurement of the binding intensities of one transcription factor (TF) to numerous synthetic double-stranded DNA sequences in a single experiment. Recently, Jolma et al. reported the results of 547 HT-SELEX experiments coveri...
متن کاملA model for sequential evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) data
A Systematic Evolution of Ligands by EXponential enrichment (SELEX) experiment begins in round one with a random pool of oligonucleotides in equilibrium solution with a target. Over a few rounds, oligonucleotides having a high affinity for the target are selected. Data from a high throughput SELEX experiment consists of lists of thousands of oligonucleotides sampled after each round. Thus far, ...
